Im a big fan of sid meirs pirates but its horrible on ios! Id like a refund actually! I was lied to by other reviewers! Its horrible!

Ive been playing Sid Meiers Pirates! since it was first released in 1987. Ive always loved playing it and it has only gotten better over the years. Ive tried to go back to playing the original but it cant hold a candle to this version. Try it. I guarantee youll love playing it as much as I do.

Game would be good, except the sword fighting needs work for the compatibility with an iPhone

Amazing app! Amazing game! Very well made but I have one concern. The last update was in 2012... The game has stayed the same with nothing added on the entire time Ive had the game. Its fun and all but with nothing to keep me playing, I reconsider if it was worth the money I payed. If anyone that has any influence on updates and the game could you maybe get an update to keep me and many others playing this amazing game?!

Good game, but until they fix the frequent crashes its not worth it.

Waste of my money. Not as good as I thought it was.

The game is fun until you hit a wall with a mission to find a pirate that is impossible to beat. Every time you split your bounty with the crew all you supplies, ships, and everything else reset which is stupid. Having more ships does nothing to benefit you in battles. When you line up your ship to fire and select a different cannon type the ship then moves due to a glitch in the game and you end up wasting your ammo on that shot. If the developers fix these issues and add better tutorials the game would be with the price.

I absolutely loved this game on my iPhone 4S, but on my iPhone 6, sailing and fighting is too fast to control. Needs an update.

Every time I rescue a family member the game freezes, i log back in and the rest of the family members are marked where I rescued the first. When I make port the stranger who gives the quest doesnt load the next step which forever stops me from finishing the game. Shame, used to love the PC version

Ive experienced many crashes whenever I attack and capture a trade galleon. Of course I never get a crash when I lose a battle. Biggest disappointment is the removal of actual sea to land battles. That use to be the best part of the game. Also, i no longer am able to get any gold from sea to land victories like I used to. Not sure why the developers took that away. the older version was better.

Optimize for iPhone 6 plus and 6. I love this game but its been over 3 years since an update. Also please add the island sneaking mode like in the of version.

Please optimize for 5 and up. Empty boarders are really annoying. This game was an amazing game on the computer, and with a few updates the IOS version could be even better then that.

I had high hopes for this app and spent $2.99 without thinking twice because the PC version of this game was fun and entertaining. This app is similar but with issues causing the game to fall short. Sword fighting via swiping ends up being difficult and the map doesnt zoom out far enough to really see where youre heading. If you played the PC version first youll be disappointed with this app. If not, you may find it somewhat entertaining but hardly worth the $2.99 theyre asking.

Was expecting a horridly downsized game but it retains a lot of the content and charm. Unfortunately it is practically unplayable on a smaller screen, especially with the awful touch controls.

This is a horrible desecration of the word "game." All it is is a weak story with horrible sword fighting controls that make you move 1 inch per second and awful naval combat that makes your ship fire in all directions except for the direction of the enemy ship. For now, this is my opinion of the game.

Never seen a bug in this game. Best pirate game of all time and its a full console port. My only issue with this version is not being able to pause time when youre trying to enter a port of a city like the original, and the speeding up of sailing and cut scenes kind of takes away from the experience. But that could be a plus to some who want faster action. Also like the new ballroom dancing system, very entertaining and much more challenging. If you havent played this game it is a MUST! Seriously the only game i spend time on now a days on my phone, and it has absolutely NO ads or in game purchases.

Fix the bugs and let us plunder cities pleaseee

Waste of money. Attempted numerous times on updated iPhone 6 with strong connection. Restarted phone, logged in and out of iTunes. Takes an hour to download just over half and fails. Every time. Thanks for nothing. Worthless.

Always loved this game. Would love to see a release of a multiplayer version. Wouldnt have to change a thing but make it an mmo.✊

Pirates! has always been a great game, but Im only giving it 2 stars because the developers somehow found a way to mess it up, when all they had to do was move it to mobile. Dancing is a nightmare. Cargo seems to vanish or is obnoxious to manage efficiently. The controls for sailing, targeting and switching ammo are wild at best, while fencing is occasionally unresponsive. No land combat is a huge loss. Its still addictive, but its never satisfying like the console version was.
